- More venting at Bill Gates and Co. I just purchased a Star LC
- 1001C printer. I use it with a Xetec Super Graphic interface.
- It came complete with two 3 1/4 inch disks. One appears to be
- fonts, to be loaded from a PC. One is all the procedures for
- setting the darned thing up, in WINDOWS. The manual is completley
- inadequate. I have been having a heck of a time getting TWS
- set up to work with my new printer. If I didn't have the manual
- for my previous printer, a Star NX-1001, I would be completely
- lost. The "Trouble-shooting" section tells you how to deal with
- lots of possible problems, using the disk!
-
- Why did I buy a printer that is obviously meant to be used only
- with some 3 1/4 inch disks and WINDOWS? That's not what I
- ordered. I ordered a Star NX-1001, which is still listed in the
- Lyben catalog, but is no longer available! Lyben substituted
- the new one. Said it was completely compatible! I suspect it is
- but you can't prove it from that dreadful manual.
